TONE ÅSE - VOCAL/ELECTRONICS
STÅLE STORLØKKEN - KEYBORDS/SAMPLING
TOR HAUGERUD - DRUMS/PERCUSSION
bol's music is a hybrid beyond limits traditionally defined as jazz, with compositions ranging from catchy melodies through composed ”chamber music” to open sketches. By different frameworks bol is experimenting with a mix of acoustic and electronic soundscapes using improvised loops, noise and effects, with expressions as tight and loose, lyrical and rough, fragile and powerful ...
Tone Åse has a long time background as member of the modern a capella ensemble Kvitretten and also Trondheim Voices, through witch she has explored both "bel canto", voice experimentation , free improvisation and not at least the fields in between. She is also experimenting with electronic effects on her voice and use live sampling/loops.
Ståle Storløkken has experimented with sounds and soundscapes mainly by use of "synthesizers from the past" as his trademark, in settings as the band
Supersilent,
Audun Kleive's BIT, and Terje Rypdal's Skywards. As a composer, he is often writing "improvised chamber music"; for BOL and string quartet he composed ”Interference harmony”, presented at the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival 2003. To the Trondheim Jazzfestival 2002 he wrote ”Four Short Stories” for the Trondheim Symphonic Orchestra.
Tor Haugerud has since the early 90's been developing his strong expression and trying out different kinds of "set-ups" through among others working with the "power-ethno"-group
Transjoik, the free jazzgroup Gibrish, and lately his surrealistic music-performance-project misterYtor.

Reviews:
“SilverSun is a haunting, spine-tingling
masterwork that is impossible to forget. And it´s easily one of the finest platters to emerge from the fertile landscape of Scandinavia this year.”
Kevin Renick, Playback Stl
A solid sequel (...) although your expectations after listening to the Album are high, it is an experience in itself to see and hear an electronic trio mastering the subtle art of playing together like this Roald Helgheim, Dagsavisen
The Span in their Universe of Electronica is delightfully extensive, from the obsessive to the nearby transparent fragile. Svein Andersen, Aftenposten Oslopuls
Bol will probably be placed in the category of Jazz, although rockers and others with an open mind become to find pleasure in this excursion in Music. With “Silver Sun” Bol simply has given us some of the most exciting Music there is in a loooong, loooong time. Tor Hammerø, Nettpuls
